With more than 35 years of martial arts experience, International Master Instructor Mirna Iskandar has dedicated her life to empowering children, strengthening families and creating stronger, more connected communities across Sydney—from Penrith and Chester Hill to Earlwood, Canterbury-Bankstown and Marrickville in the Inner West.

As a respected 7th Degree Black Belt, educator, mentor and community leader, Master Mirna represents the highest ideals of martial arts education. Her influence extends far beyond the training floor. Through her guidance, thousands of children and young people have developed confidence, discipline, resilience, focus and a stronger belief in their own potential.

At Pinnacle Martial Arts, her mission is simple yet powerful: to help every student become stronger in body, sharper in mind and richer in character. The academy’s philosophy embraces physical, moral and personal development, giving students the foundations they need to grow with confidence and succeed in life.

A Lifelong Journey of Excellence

Master Mirna Iskandar began her Taekwondo journey at just three years of age. From those early beginnings, she has built an extraordinary career as an international competitor, instructor, mentor and humanitarian.

Her competitive achievements include gold-medal performances at the 2003 NSW State Championships and the 2004 Lebanese International Championships. These accomplishments reflect her determination, courage, discipline and lifelong pursuit of excellence.

Yet Master Mirna’s greatest achievements cannot be measured in medals or trophies.

They can be seen in the child who discovers confidence after years of self-doubt, the teenager who learns to overcome fear and accept responsibility, and the family that finds renewed connection, pride and purpose through a shared martial arts journey. They can also be seen in the students who go on to become leaders, respected role models and champions in their own right.

For Master Mirna, every student represents possibility, and every lesson is an opportunity to change a life.

Helping Every Child Reach Their Potential

For decades, Master Mirna has been a trusted source of encouragement and guidance for children and families across Sydney. Her teaching is compassionate, structured and highly personalised, enabling students from different ages, backgrounds and abilities to progress with confidence.

Through positive mentorship, consistent encouragement and clear expectations, she helps students face challenges, recognise their strengths and develop the courage to keep moving forward.

Her programs can be especially valuable for children experiencing challenges with confidence, self-esteem, anxiety, social development, attention, focus and concentration. Master Mirna also supports students with ADHD and related behavioural challenges, autism spectrum-related support needs, bullying concerns and emotional resilience.

She understands that every child learns and develops differently. Her ability to connect with students as individuals has helped countless young people strengthen their confidence, communication, focus, self-control and social skills both inside and outside the academy.

More Than Martial Arts

Master Mirna believes martial arts is about far more than learning physical techniques. It is about developing the character, values and mindset required to live a purposeful and successful life.

Through Martial Arts Taekwondo training, students learn the importance of respect, humility, discipline, self-control, courage, perseverance, responsibility, leadership, teamwork and communication. They also learn how to set meaningful goals, accept personal responsibility and remain committed when challenges arise.

Many students who once struggled with confidence, concentration or social interaction have flourished under her guidance. Some have gone on to become school leaders, mentors, role models and Australian Taekwondo champions.

This is the enduring power of Master Mirna’s work. She does not simply teach students how to perform better; she inspires them to believe they can become better.

Strengthening Sydney Communities

Master Mirna’s contribution extends well beyond the academy. Through Pinnacle Martial Arts, she supports children, families, schools and community groups across Sydney through structured programs designed to develop confidence, wellbeing, character and practical life skills.

Pinnacle Martial Arts Sydney delivers tailored programs for preschools, childcare centres, primary schools, high schools, community groups and diverse organisations. The academy also provides school holiday programs, group training, martial arts fitness, practical self-defence workshops and specialised women’s self-defence programs.

These initiatives help participants develop confidence, respect, discipline, leadership, focus, resilience, fitness and emotional strength. Pinnacle also offers age-specific programs for Mini Rangers, children, teenagers and adults, together with high-performance Olympic-style Taekwondo training.

Through this work, Master Mirna uses martial arts as a powerful vehicle for positive change, helping to create safer, stronger and more connected communities throughout Sydney.

A Legacy of Leadership and Compassion

As a mother, mentor, educator and role model, Master Mirna leads with both expertise and heart. Her impact is reflected not only in the achievements of her students, but also in the trust placed in her by families, schools and community organisations.

For many people, she is far more than a martial arts instructor. She is a source of strength, a trusted advocate, a patient mentor and a positive influence during some of the most important formative years of a young person’s life.

Her legacy is built one student, one family and one community at a time.

Through Pinnacle Martial Arts, Master Mirna continues to empower children to believe in themselves, inspire families to grow together, equip young people with lifelong values, develop confident and compassionate leaders, promote health and wellbeing, and create opportunities for every student to reach their potential.

A Champion of People

Master Mirna Iskandar’s story is one of lifelong dedication, service and transformation. Her achievements as a competitor and 7th Degree Black Belt are remarkable, but her greatest distinction is the positive difference she makes in the lives of others.

Her work demonstrates that true excellence is not measured only by how far a person can rise, but by how many people they help rise with them.

Through her leadership at Pinnacle Martial Arts, Master Mirna continues to inspire a generation of confident children, resilient young people, supportive families and future community leaders across Sydney.

International Master Instructor Mirna Iskandar Madrajat is not simply teaching martial arts. She is shaping character, strengthening communities and changing futures. Train with Master Mirna and discover how martial arts can transform confidence, character and life.
