This award is presented by the Governor-General on behalf of King Charles III, reflecting a recognition of exceptional service from the Sovereign of the Commonwealth.

We stand in immense pride to see Grand Master Hassan Iskandar, a true icon in the Taekwondo & Martial Arts world, receive this honour. Grand Master Hassan’s remarkable Martial Arts journey includes founding Pinnacle Martial Arts Academy Sydney, mentoring future champions, and earning the respect of the Taekwondo community worldwide. In 2021, he became the first Australian in 50 years to be elected to the World Taekwondo Federation Council. His accolades include induction into the Taekwondo Hall of Fame (2011), the Australian Sports Medal 2000, the Tasmanian Star of Sport Award 1985, and serving as President of Australian Taekwondo from 2017 to 2021—transforming the national organization into one of the most progressive sporting bodies globally.
