The Iskandar Family, led by Grand Master Dr Hassan Iskandar OAM, has been inducted into the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame as Taekwondo Family of the Year 2026. This prestigious honour recognises a remarkable multi-generational legacy built on dedication, leadership, and service to Taekwondo.

Across three generations of National Champions, the Iskandar Family has produced National Champions, Australian Representatives, and Continental Medallists, while also shaping the future of the sport through coaching, teaching, and mentorship. For more than five decades, the family has contributed at every level of Taekwondo—grassroots, state, national, and international—through elite athlete development and transformative leadership.

Grand Master Dr Hassan Iskandar OAM, former President of Australian Taekwondo and the first Australian elected to the World Taekwondo governing body, helped shape the sport’s direction nationally and globally. Master Kedar Iskandar played an integral role on the National Taekwondo Coaching Committee, bringing innovation and strategy, and represented Australia as a coach at major events in the United States, Korea, and Malaysia. Master Mirna Iskandar has inspired and transformed children facing ADHD and other challenges into confident, disciplined NSW and Australian champions.
